After successfully restarting the system, the next step is to the Device type
for the I/O System. Go to I/O System and PROFINET Device. In this Device
section, we will Device Catalog for installation configuration. Here we will
choose Internal BASIC V1.2.

After completing the DI/DO Module ion, we will Digital Signals for
the DI and DO modules. This new creation can be d directly in the I/O
Configuration section or in the I/O System - Signal section in the main interface section.

The first way to a New Signal is in the I/O Config section, we just need to
name the signals in the Signal Editor section, the software will automatically set up the
corresponding modules, signal types and number the mapping accordingly. Order from
top to bottom. (Note that with each new configuration for the Robot, we need to click
Write Config to restart the system and the configuration).

Return to the operating steps after connecting the network between the PLC and
the Robots Internal Device. We combine the DI/DO module into the device, ing
the corresponding 64-byte DI/DO modules.

The I address and Q address displayed here will be in the order corresponding to
the define section mapped in RobotStudio. Suppose we choose I address from 68-131
corresponding to DI/DOs with device mapping from 0-63. For Q address is 2-65.
Then we a Tag Table, with data type Bool and an address corresponding to the
order of the mapping section on RobotStudio.
After completing the above steps, we proceed to Compile and upload the program.
Then to complete the connection protocol we need to Assign the Robots IP Profinet to
the PLC.
Here, we will choose the Function – Assign Profinet device name section to
proceed with assigning the Profinet protocol of the Robot with the PLC. Once completed,
the signal will turn green, and Profinet communication between the PLC and ABB
Robot can begin.
